For the first time after the pandemic, we were happy to welcome over 350 top managers from the leading O&G companies at LNGCON 2022 in Dusseldorf! LNG leaders gathered to connect with investors and customers, explore industry innovations, and gain insights into the most vital trends in the LNG market.

Over 6 sessions, 4 panel discussions, and 1 roundtable, more than 45 expert speakers covered the current issues of the industry: from energy transition, decarbonisation and sustainability strategies, to digitalisation, plant upgrades, asset management, performance optimisation, and the importance of LNG in stabilisation of the energy supply situation in Europe.

The Congress began with the opening panel, where C-level executives from Rolande, Chart Industries, LIQVIS, and Axegaz Trading & Technology SAS discussed the challenges of the ongoing energy transition, shared the early experiences with the use of Bio-LNG, and explored the role of hydrogen in reaching sustainability standards of the future.

Jose Augusto Gomes Campos, Business Development Director - Power, Oil & Gas at Andrade Gutierrez Engenharia took the stage to speak on the current boom in LNG to Power projects in Brazil, and the role of LNG in the development of a global green hydrogen energy supply during Panel Discussion 1: “Decarbonisation and LNG industry”.
Roundtable 1 offered the LNGCON participants an overview of the recent and upcoming LNG transport and storage projects all over Europe - such as LNG Terminal Krk, LNG Satellite Storage in Reichstett, Gasunie’s Brunsbüttel and Hanseatic Energy Hub’s Stade LNG Terminals in Germany, and many more.

The programme of Day 2 was fully dedicated to automation and digitalisation of LNG operations, ways to achieve sustainability goals, and alternative fuels options for mobility. The Congress concluded with the discussion on LNG pricing and trading strategies, where industry experts took an in-depth look at the LNG market trends.

Panel Discussion 2: LNG vs H2 became one of the most exciting sessions at the Congress with representatives from NEUMAN & ESSER, KBR, Petrofac, Tractebel Engineering, and Hydrogen Europe entering an active discussion on the complicated relationship between LNG and hydrogen and the opportunities they give for developing new business models and achieving climate goals.

We would like to thank our Principal Sponsor, Chart Industries, for sharing their insights with the LNGCON participants through their wonderful presentations on the means to provide the infrastructure for hydrogen-fueled heavy haulage vehicles. Wilhelm Layher, our Platinum Sponsor, also presented a case study on safety solutions through the example of the scaffolding built at a MOL oil refinery in Hungary.

Our attendees had a perfect opportunity to discover the latest technologies firsthand at the LNGCON Focus Exhibition. More than 50 companies showcased innovative solutions and services for various stages of LNG operations. LNG bunkering, measurement and monitoring, small-scale transportation, cryogenic equipment, fuelling stations, and more were featured at the event.

Today has brought renewed focus to energy security, and companies are striving to work together to reach stability in the European energy market. During the 2 days of the Congress, we organised over 400 B2B meetings that helped make new connections between LNG market players and establish grounds for future partnerships.
